When you’re busy and you just don’t have time to wash your hair in the morning , using a dry shampoo can be the ultimate solution. Using dry shampoo can help clean greasy ,dirty hair. It basically absorbs the natural oils in your hair and leaves it smelling fresh and clean.
What is dry shampoo?
Dry shampoo is a dry substance (powder) that cleans your hair without the use of water. It works by absorbing oil from your scalp and hair, and making it look and feel freshly washed again. It is meant to be used only once or twice a week when you don’t have much time to wash your hair. Here is a good diy recipe for dry shampoo for light and dark hair colors.
Homemade Dry Shampoo Recipe
- 2 Tablespoons of arrowroot powder or organic cornstarch.
- 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder (don’t not use for light hair, only use for darker hair colors).
- 5 drops of essential oil of choice
- A mixing bowl and an old make-up brush to apply
Add arrowroot powder/cornstarch, cacao powder and essential oil to a bowl and stir until thoroughly combined. Then apply the dry shampoo on your roots and rub in with your fingers. This powder will absorb into your roots and remove excess oil leaving it feeling nice and refreshed! Then brush your hair and you are ready to go! It’s such a time saver!
